Mistaken Identity

I receive regular messages from about two different mobile numbers. What’s funny is both texters call me Sir Raffy, or at least that’s the person they wanna talk to. I do remember before that one of them has actually tried calling me. Naturally, I picked up the phone. This didn’t happen just once or twice but several times already. And every time I answer, the woman would always ask for Sir Raffy. Repeatedly, I’ve told them that they got the wrong number yet they still call and text me.

So far, with the trail of messages they have been sending, I have gathered some facts about the lives of these texters of mine. It seems they are housemaids working for this certain Sir Raffy. One of the texters is named Rose and she usually calls Raffy when she needs to get an advance from her bi-monthly salary. Quite recently also, her sibling died and she was asking me (Raffy) for permission to leave work for at least a week.

The other one is named Emily. Now this Emily is quite a character. She unabashedly tells her employer Raffy about Lovely having a relationship with this certain Elmark. It got messy as she reported the juicy details of Lovely, aka Neneng, being such a flirt and now already successful in ensnaring Elmark. Emily also usually complains about Lovely not working as much. From how I see it, Emily is just bitter that Lovely got Elmark and that she has to do most of the work because Lovely is busy with her lovelife.

There are times that I am so tempted to just reply and pretend that I am Raffy. I wonder how she will react and if she would turn into a witch in the process. I can also imagine what kind of a headache this Raffy must be getting after hiring these scandalous maids and that even in their personal affairs he must get involved. Whew. Thank God we don’t have maids.
